GEM

GEM (Georgie’s Empowerment Mentoring) was born out of a deep desire to create a supportive space where women, especially teens, can grow, learn, and thrive. My journey began in a small town, where I often felt isolated in my struggles with self-doubt, body image, and the challenges of adolescence. As I grew older, I sought out tools and resources that helped me build the confidence and resilience I needed to overcome these challenges.

This personal journey, combined with my academic background in psychology, fueled my passion to help others. I founded GEM to provide women of all ages with the guidance, support, and community I wished I had during my formative years. Starting in my hometown, I’m excited to expand GEM’s reach, taking this mission into schools, online communities, and beyond.

Who am I ?

Hi, I’m Georgie, the founder of GEM - Georgie’s Empowerment Mentoring.

I grew up in a small town where I often struggled with self-doubt, body image, and finding my place in the world. My journey to self-empowerment was transformative as I sought out resources and mentors who helped me build the confidence and resilience needed to overcome the challenges of adolescence.

Academically, I pursued my passion for understanding human behaviour, completing my Honours Degree in Psychology. Throughout my studies, I focused on the factors contributing to mental well-being and personal growth, which further solidified my desire to help others. My honours thesis explored the moderating role of a growth mindset on students' academic outcomes and goal-setting, giving me deep insights into how mindset can influence success.

In addition to my academic background, I’ve gained practical experience as a crisis supporter at Lifeline, where I’ve worked with individuals in their darkest moments, helping them navigate through their pain and find hope. I’ve also been part of the Youth Frontiers mentor program, where I guided young people as they built confidence, set goals, and worked towards becoming the best versions of themselves.

Through GEM, I combine my personal experiences, academic knowledge, and professional expertise to create a space where women of all ages can thrive. I’m passionate about helping others discover their potential and excited to share this journey with you
